Caste
The fruits developed by Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Gazipur are Kazi Guava, Bari Guava-2, Bari Guava-3, and Bari Guava-4. The fruits developed from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAKRBI) are Bau Guava-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Ipsapeara is a fruit developed at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University. Apart from these invented varieties, other popular guava varieties are Kanchannagar, Mukundapuri, and Swarupkathi.
Kazi Guava
High-yielding variety, fruit slightly sour, and seeds quite hard. Its weight is about 400-500 grams.
Bari Guava-2
High-yielding variety. It can be cultivated everywhere. The variety bears 2 times in monsoon and winter. Its weight is about 350-400 grams.
Bari Guava-3
Fruit flesh smooth, yellow-green at full maturity, with red shell, seeds medium. Its weight is about 180 grams.
Bari Guava-4
Seedless, glossy, and very sweet to eat. This variety of guava is less prone to diseases and insects. Its weight is about 284 grams.
Appropriate time
Guava is a perennial fruit. So, guava can be planted at any time of the year. However, it is possible to get guava yield at certain times of the year. Guava yields are high during the rainy season, so the price of guava is much lower than at other times. For the cultivation of Thai guava, like other varieties of guava, its seedlings should be planted in mid-Jyeshta to mid-Ashwin months.
Cultivation method
You can plant a guava plant in a medium-sized container at home where it receives direct sunlight. This plant requires well-drained soil but can grow in a variety of soils. Garden soil must be mixed with sand and good compost when planting guava plants in tubs or containers.
Soil preparation
A sandy loam soil with good drainage is best for growing Thai guava. To plant Thai guava trees, 2 parts of soil with 1 part of dung manure and 40-50 grams of T. SP, 40-50 grams of potash fertilizer should be mixed and kept in a container and soaked in water for 10-12 days. After that, the soil should be removed and left for 5-6 days. If the soil is rough then seeds or seedlings should be planted.
Guava tree planting method
From seed
A) If you want to plant by seed then it will take about 3 to 4 years to bear fruit from this tree.
b) For planting seeds first buy good quality seeds from a nursery shop. Soak the seeds in water for 3 to 5 days before planting. As a result, the seeds will germinate.
c) Then take the soil mixed with fertilizer in a small pot and sow the seeds by making small holes. Water lightly to maintain moisture.
d) Now cover with a plastic sheet. Then keep it in a place that gets enough sunlight. Guava seeds grow best at temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.
After about 3 to 10 weeks, seedlings will emerge from the seeds. When the plants are mature enough, they should be transferred to another larger container. If you prefer, you can buy grafting plants directly from nurseries.

Thai guava trees are very attractive to look at. Both its leaves and flowers are mildly fragrant and attractive. Plants grow up to 12 feet tall. Therefore, Thai guava plants need a much larger pot for root development and get a container of at least 12 inches to provide enough space.
Before planting, make potting soil with adequate drainage, choosing a pot that drains easily. Plant self-pollinating plants with a quality potting mix mixed with compost, sand, and soil in your container. Water the plant sparingly afterwards as this plant likes moisture.
